Dear Karas and Arthur! I want to know your opinion. This staple gangway\ladders (staple stairs) going to roof of conning tower  must be in 1943? I think that the stairs to the roof of the tower should be in order to serve the windows of the rangefinder.
Drodzy Karas i Artur!

Hi Iutar

It looks you are right. Here is 1941, Genua bombardement. Left down corner:

Artur
Hi Arthur! Thank you very much! I will make a gangway on the starboard side.
Cześć Arthur! Dziękuję bardzo! Zrobię trap po prawej burcie.
Witam Pany.
Pasowanie niemal idealne: ]

Hello Karas and colleagues! "Let me show you the world in my eyes..."

[attachment=500]

My opinion: Here is the ventilation of the engine room, exactly the same as on each side at the beginning of the "elephant trunk". At the bottom of the ventilation grill is a bulkhead.

hello iutar
Do you suggest that there should be something similar like on the screenshot below?
Frame with wire grid?
[Obrazek: bX8YFma.png]
Karas, hello! Yes exactly. I am sure that the ventilation between the hangars looked exactly like on the details of the number 143P & 143L. An absolute copy from a technical point of view. There may also be doors below, as on the Trumpeter model.

I also think that the power beams and corners under the decks of the hangars should be connected.

[attachment=508]
[attachment=509]
[attachment=510]

Maybe it's not power beams and corners, but a suspension of lamps. I'm not sure. The connecting lines are still visible.
Hello, Karas! I thought and decided that on my model I will make ventilation, as on details 143, but I will not make doors, as on the model Trumpeter. The fact is that in the photographs of HMS Malaya in 10 02 1942, the catapult control system is closed by a raft (floating platform). This means that the doors are also locked if they were there.

Witaj Karas!

[attachment=511]
I decided the same as you, I will fill the whole hole by the wire net and will add one horizontal beam, exactly as you suggested.
Many thanks for your help and sharp eye: ]
Siemano Pany,

[Obrazek: udSxka0.jpg]
[Obrazek: waZVRi9.jpg]

EDIT
skończone skrzynie

Jakie ładne ksynecki ;-)
Fantastyczne te Twoje fantazje Smile
Fantastycznie Big Grin
Dear Karas! Sumptuously! These boxes for ammunition turned out very copy. It looks like drawings from a monograph.

@iutar, Thank you so much for these refs. I am not sure how 'deep' i want to go into details in regard to the 4" guns, but for sure now, I have loads of materials: ]

Ahhh no, była jedna rzecz. Musze rozkminić na przyszłość malowanie siatki drucianej, bo tu najpierw przykleiłem paski kratownicy, a dopiero później pomalowałem i przez to miałem nieliche problemy z dojściem do różnych świecących fragmentów. Nadal jest to słabo pomalowane i pod pewnym kątem patrzenia widać sporo gołej miedzi.

[Obrazek: E7a6CzN.jpg]

Karas! Hello! Here is another addition. Arthur in his magazine showed type 284 radar (part 286). The radar in cross section looks like a prism. In fact, only the side walls were made in the form of a prism, and the radar itself was in the form of a semicircle in cross section.

[attachment=536]
[attachment=537]

Behind the Type 284 radar was only a frame. The frame creates the illusion that the radar is made in the form of a prism. In fact, it is semicircular in cross section.

iutar, heheheeh you make my life a pretty hard. I will apply your suggestion to my model.
Thank you for the effort to research details about the ship.

Here is another addition. Arthur in his magazine showed tower HACS Mk III*. (parts 551 552 553 554 555 556 558). This is correct and is confirmed by the photographs of HMS Malaya in 1943. Inside the tower, Arthur showed a rangefinder and two chairs (seats). This is not enough. Missing system director officers barrage sight and giro rate unit (GRU). For this system (GRU), a central window is designed and two small ones next to the tower. Instead of two seats, there should be seven (only six are visible).  I will make a system director officers barrage sight and GRU.
I’ll make it simplistic, in the form of two-legged racks, a gyrocube and binoculars, as in the photos below.

In addition, the tower cover consisted of two halves, and did not fold back, as Arthur showed, but on the sides.

Usually, the English painted a white stripe on the back of the tower. It was a standard marking. I will also draw on my model. Photos of Malaya do not give a clear answer.

I really like your work and I want to help. No one makes this model as high quality and accurate as you. Additional detailing will add copying. "It's easy to do bad, but not easy to do good!"

[attachment=554]
Dear Karas! I wanted to consult with you. What dimensions of the anchor chain link did you choose? On a scale of 1/200?
L x S = 3mm x 2mm is a lot?
Drogi Karas! Chciałem się z tobą skonsultować. Jakie wymiary ogniwa łańcucha kotwicy wybrałeś? W skali 1/200?
L x S = 3mm x 2mm to dużo?

[attachment=559]
Hi iutar, first of all I would like to thank you so much for such great materials which you share with me.
I much appreciate it.
So far I didn't focus on Malaya chain and even didn't try to check, but please verify my way of calculating it.
IF the ship is 196m length. The distance between the hawse hole and the windlass is around 15m. I have also counted the number of chain parts from the picture. It's more or less 45 parts.
15m/45=0.333m=4d
it means that 6d=0,5m
0,5m length of one chain part in scale 1:200 means, that it should be 2,5mm on the model. I find your example as fine. I will use chain 3x2 also.
